Darrow’s art classes place our students in collaborative, interactive group endeavors where they can build team skills and relationships along with exploring their own individual talents. We offer a significant foundation in performing arts training that is constantly evolving to reflect the desires of our students, and society itself. Colleges and employers today seek people who think creatively, manage projects with discipline, and who can receive and offer criticism. These skills are at the heart of our art curriculum.
THE JOLINE ARTS CENTER
One of the most significant building on The Darrow School Campus is the 12,000 sq. ft. Joline Arts Center. This art center provides studio and lab spaces for a broad range of fine arts programming, including classrooms and studios specifically built for painting, drawing, design, ceramics, photography, and woodworking.
From its courtyard to its skylights, the building provides the resources that support the needs of students, teachers, and guest artists. The Joline Arts Center is a work of art itself.
THE DARROW PERFORMING ARTS CENTER
This new space, unveiled in Autumn 2015, features state-of-the-art technology and learning spaces designed for creative thinking and creative action.
The Performing Arts Center has classrooms, a recording studio, and spaces dedicated to individual practice, collaboration, media review, and post-production. It is where advanced teaching, individual practice, and professional production resources all come together. We welcome anyone interested to see it firsthand.
