HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETICS
Darrow teams play to win, but they also play to have fun, work hard, learn team play, improve skills, and stay healthy.
Darrow athletes embrace the fun and intensity of competition, the triumph of improving their skills, and the leadership
cultivated both on the field and throughout our school community.
We offer a great variety of both competitive and non-competitive sports ensuring that all of our students have the opportunity to get involved in athletics and be a part of the Darrow Team.
Athletics is a very important aspect of The Darrow School curriculum. We ensure that we have the facilities available for our students to thrive. The Darrow Schools’ indoor facilities include a full basketball gymnasium with a climbing wall and a fully equipped fitness and training center. Outdoors, we have tennis courts, fields for all outdoor sports, cross-country running trails, and mountain bike courses. An added extra feature to the great location at Darrow is the nearby ski resorts which make sports such as skiing and snowboarding easily accessible. Our facilities allow our students to choose from a diverse selection of sports and activities throughout their education.
STRUCTURE AND SCHEDULE
Our school athletics programs run all three seasons of the school year, with competitive sports and non-competitive electives. Every student participates in all three seasons and must choose a competitive sport in at least one of them. Darrow offers a variety of sports to choose from such as soccer, basketball & tennis as well as mixed martial arts, yoga, and skiing plus many more.
Darrow competes in the Hudson Valley Athletic League (HVAL) and New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) athletic organizations, giving our students the opportunity to challenge themselves in a sport.
